John Kelsey-Fry QC represented NatWest Bank in the first FCA prosecution of a UK bank involving offences under the money laundering regulations. After a lengthy investigation, NatWest pleaded guilty to three charges for offences which occurred between 2012-2016. The case concluded with Mrs Justice Cockerill imposing a fine of £264.8m on NatWest.
